MOSCOW, August 18. /ITAR-TASS/. A group of Denmark's inspectors will make an observation flight over Russia under the Treaty on Open Skies (TOS), Ruslan Shishin, acting chief of the national Nuclear Risk Reduction Center, told lTAR-TASS.
Shishin said, "Within a period from August 18 to 22, in implementation of the international Treaty on Open Skies, a mission of the Kingdom of Denmark will make an observation flight over Russia's territory aboard an An-30B observation plane".
During the plane's flight along an agreed route, Russian specialists aboard the plane will monitor compliance with the agreed parameters of the flight and the use of Treaty-stipulated observation equipment.
The An-30B is a plane which belongs to a type of aircraft that does not carry any armament. The plane and the onboard observation equipment (aerophotography cameras) have undergone an international examination with Russian specialists' participation, which rules out the use of technical means other than those prescribed by the Treaty.
