SEOUL, April 2. /TASS/. North Korea launched what is believed to be a medium-range ballistic missile, Yonhap reported citing the South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff.
According to Seoul’s assessments, the missile was launched from the Pyongyang area at appoximately 06:53 local time (00:53 Moscow time). Previously, the media reported that North Korea launched a ballistic missile towards the Sea of Japan.
The Joint Chiefs of Staff added that the South Korean Armed Forces increased their readiness and monitoring level in case of additional launches. South Korea underscored that it exchanges information with the US and Japan.
On April 2, North Korea made the third ballistic missile launch in 2024. On January 14, Pyongyang launched a solid-propellant ballistic missile with a hypersonic warhead.
