SEOUL, March 18. /TASS/. North Korean leader Kim Jong Un vows that he and Russian President Vladimir Putin will open a new chapter in bilateral relations.
"We will usher in a new milestone in North Korean-Russian relations, which are characterized by deep historical roots and traditions, in accordance with the challenges of this era. [We will] resolutely work together for the nation-building of the two powerful states, which is what our countries aspire to," the Korean Central News Agency quoted Kim Jong Un's telegram to Vladimir Putin amid his impending win in the Russian presidential election.
Kim Jong Un wished the Russian leader good health and many victories in "this responsible post" for the benefit of the Russian people. The North Korean leader pointed out that thanks to the summit held at the Vostochny spaceport in 2023, good-neighborly relations between the two countries have reached a "historic turn" and that in this regard relations between Moscow and Pyongyang are actively developing as relations of strategic partnership based on common ideas of independence and struggle against imperialism.
