MOSCOW, January 9. /TASS/. Russia has terminated its double taxation avoidance agreements with Latvia and Denmark, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement, as published on the portal for official legal information.
"On January 1, 2024, the agreement between the government of the Russian Federation and the government of the Republic of Latvia on the avoidance of double taxation and prevention of tax avoidance in relation to taxes on income and capital, signed in Moscow on December 20, 2010, was terminated," the statement says.
"On January 1, 2024, the Convention between the government of the Russian Federation and the government of the Kingdom of Denmark on the avoidance of double taxation and prevention of tax evasion with respect to taxes on income and property, signed in Moscow on February 8, 1996, was terminated," the ministry adds.
Earlier, a relevant decree from President Vladimir Putin terminated a number of articles in the double taxation avoidance agreement between Russia and the United States, as well as the convention on avoiding double taxation with the United Kingdom, double taxation avoidance agreements with Canada and Switzerland, along with tax deals with the Czech Republic, Denmark, Norway, Italy, Finland, France, Germany, Spain and other unfriendly countries.
