ST. PETERSBURG, June 17. /TASS/. The World Health Organization (WHO) country office is not going to leave Russia, it will continue normal operations, Melita Vujnovic, WHO representative in Russia, told TASS on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) on Friday.
"The WHO country office is here, it did not go anywhere, it is not going to and continues normal work," she said adding that she didn’t see any reason to fold operations in Russia.
The WHO official also said that currently there is no talk about her replacement and her mandate has not yet expired. "This is the issue of appointments. Currently, there is no talk that we should be replaced. My mandate has not yet expired. And when the time comes, of course, we will talk about this with the Foreign Ministry directly, because my position is not only in the sphere of healthcare but it is also a diplomatic appointment. [We will talk] with the Foreign Ministry and with the Health Ministry. When I retire, you’ll find out about it," she said.
